The woke is strong with this one. You can almost smell the smoke generated by the mental gymnastic conflicts his brain must be going through while he talks.
Anthony Mackie is typically never woke in his interviews. I actually can believe he's more of a silent conservative if I were guessing however I'm not sure that his comments convict him of anything woke or anti-American. He may be trying to thread a wishy-washy needle but hopefully he hasn't fallen to the woke gods. I hold out hope for him still. I hope we're not gaslighting on our side but I know it happens. I'm not a fanboy of his so if there are interviews that you've seen thoroughly exposing him as a leftie then by all means share it and I will plant a cross in his honor.
If Captain America WAS an accurate representation of the nation "Amerika" then he would carry bags of money to give to men who put beagle puppies heads in boxes of flesh eating bugs, because it's funny. Then he'd drop some bombs on some schools and wedding parties, for kicks. Just sayn 🤷
I really find overly patriotic people that think the USA is better than, and more moral than, anyone else to be just as annoying as USA hating leftists.
Both extremes are nauseating in that hardcore leftists and those on the right REFUSE to question their political TRIBE with any sincerity.
That is what might be most annoying.
Also, I have no respect for a country that claims to have "Liberty and Freedom" while circumcising and mutilating - VIOLENTLY SEXUALLY ABUSING - their own newborn sons at birth - in the hundreds of millions - for nearly an entire CENTURY.
Any country that performs non-life saving procedures on minors - for me, it's an unrecoverable position. That feeling of disgust that I have for these hypocrites that talk about "doing the right thing" - or, "health freedom!"...it's a permanent stain that can't be cleansed.
Culturally, Europe is far more preferable - superior, even. CULTURALLY, that is.
Further, the USA is the most highly consumeristic and materialistic in terms of raw consumption and attitude PER CAPITA, of course.
I've met a handful of really good people here, but the overall spirit of the USA, the average person that unquestioningly adheres to the rhetoric of their echo chambers and political tribes/gangs...that is what ranges from disappointing to disgusting.
From an Enneagram perspective - the USA is definitely a TYPE 3 (as stated in the book by Rohr and Ebert, "The Enneagram").
There are healthy and average manifestations of this TYPE 3 behavior.
Here are the UNHEALTHY shadow manifestations that we see with prevalence in the underbelly of the USA:
Unhealthy Levels
Level 7: Fearing failure and humiliation, they can be exploitative and opportunistic, covetous of the success of others, and willing to do “whatever it takes” to preserve the illusion of their superiority.
Level 8: Devious and deceptive so that their mistakes and wrongdoings will not be exposed. Untrustworthy, maliciously betraying or sabotaging people to triumph over them. Delusionally jealous of others
Level 9: Become vindictive, attempting to ruin others’ happiness. Relentless, obsessive about destroying whatever reminds them of their own shortcomings and failures. Psychopathic behavior. Generally corresponds to the Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
